Nestled on the banks of the River Laboureiro, we find this old mill that is part of the 'Moinhos do Poço Verde'. It has been restored to comfortably accommodate all those who want to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and allow themselves to be lulled by the sound of the cool waters of the River Laboreiro, which once turned the millstones that skilfully ground not only cereals but also cocoa. This is because this mill provided the necessary grinding for the chocolate factory that existed in the same place, dating back to the beginning of the 20th century.
Well-equipped and comfortably furnished, it invites you to long conversations by the fire in winter or, in summer, to take a refreshing dip in the river Laboreiro or in the natural pools of Poço Verde, located next to this mill and which gave its name to this place.
A short distance away is the village of Castro Laboreiro, with its rich archaeological and landscape heritage, which easily captivates those who feel nature is their home. The nearby trails lead guests to discover the rich biodiversity of the National Park, making this accommodation the perfect place for lovers of hiking.
Here you will undoubtedly find a sheltered place of pure freedom and well-being, a serene haven for relaxation, testimony to the ability to preserve the past while embracing the present, in short, a real treasure within the Peneda-Gerês National Park.
This mill shares the beauty of the place with another old mill, also restored, which has been given the name 'Fábrica do Chocolate' in honour of the old chocolate factory that used to work here. Both can be rented individually or together on an exclusive basis.
